A Quick Talk About the Smallest Electric Car – Volpe

How small can a car actually be? Keep guessing guys and you won’t believe that the smallest electric car in the world named volpe is just one and half meter tall and the manufacturers have done it so neat that it can even fit inside an elevator. Yes, you have to see this yourself to believe it.

Now let’s talk about the main highlight of the car. First highlight is that it was an idea put into reality by a famous Italian who was the former owner of big names in auto car industry like lotus and buggati companies. It is so small that you can manage to squeeze it inside your house or office and charge it like any other electric appliance, interesting isn’t it. But there are also some drawbacks that one may notice as soon as they see the volpe electric car, it does not provide boot space for your luggage and for producing such a small electric car cutting out extra space is obvious I believe.

Well what are the other notable things about ‘volpe’ – It weighs around 350 kilograms, still pretty heavy right. It is more suitable for the urban users because as mentioned earlier there is not much luggage space and the car travels at nominal speed of 48kmph, and this may not make you happy but this is a very good option if you are looking for a car that is both eco friendly and offers flexibility in driving (maneuver in tight corners easily). Being a one person seater volpe is very simple in design and offers more than its pretty looks.

It is expected to release in Europe by 2013 and it might cost around 5600 pounds, not cheap though. Volpe is launching in two different versions hybrid car and a complete electric car. The hybrid version is used to power up the electric motor of the car which drives the car and this version can travel for a very long distance compared to the electric version of the car. The extreme small size of the car compared to other cars makes it easy to drive in traffic.

One more good thing is that volpe can be driven by people who are 16 years of age and above it’s considered as a quadricycle. Designers at Zagato, have done a great job in giving the world with an elegant, driver and environmental friendly car.If possible test drive the volpe and experience the feel of the world’s smallest electric car has to offer you.
